Our house is a disaster

Last Monday we started ripping out all the carpeting in the living room and hall and started putting in these hard wood floors. We also re-painted Grant's room adding to the confusion. We finally got all the new floors in tonight. Yay.

Our good friend, Fred

This is our old friend and pet, Fred the bird. He leaves during the summer but comes back in the fall. We know it is him because he only has one leg. He is looking much better than when he first arrived after the long hot summer. He dunks Laska food into the pool like an Oreo and takes a bath every morning in our pool. That is one of his friends on the left, I think his name is Ed. We asked everyone for a name and Grant immediately came up with Fred.

Denver and Danny Landscaping

On Wednesday, Thursday and Friday Danny and Denver transformed Ben and Virginia's front yard. I wish we had before pictures but it was a disaster before we started. All the boulders and large river rock in the landscaping were there but looked like they had fallen from outerspace. We rocked it out!!

Havasupai AZ

Havasu Falls
This is one of the about a dozen horse/mule trains bringing backpacks and goods to the village of the Havasupai people that live here. The only access to Havasupai Arizona is via a 12 mile hike or helicopter. All 2,000+/- native residents of Havasupai hike or ride a horse to the rest of the world

The hike in and out

A "street" in the village

This little Havsupai girl grabbed my hat for a pose in the restaurant in the village. There is a medical clinic, school, restaurant, store, post office, tribal offices and one 6 room hotel in the village.

This is Havasu falls right before you reach the campground.

Rope Swing Havasupai

Havasuapi is one of the most beautiful places on earth.
I baked a double layer cake and frosted it for a birthday at the bottom of the Grand Canyon. It is easy to be good cook miles from civilization

Here is Taz descending Mooney falls. You must descend through these tunnels and down the cliffs. It is amazing.

The amazing contrast of dessert and tropical jungle in one place makes you want to stay forever
